John Peel's Successors Named...

It is widely accepted that John Peel can never be replaced.

The challenge for the new show therefore is to keep his legacy alive. OneMusic will do this through its support for new artists both signed and unsigned with an emphasis on UK talent.

Begining on February 1st, John Peel's week night show will be succeeded by OneMusic, three shows hosted by three DJs:

Tuesdays - Huw Stephens
Wednesdays - Ras Kwame
Thursdays - Rob Da Bank

I'm listening to Huw Stephens show on BBC Radio 1 right now and within a few minutes I'm hooked. He's already just played a brand-new version of Kate Bush's Hounds of Love track done by new band The Futureheads. I have to admit, I sort of liked it, and I'm not usually fond of others doing Kate's songs. I like Huw's show. He's young with very bright energy, and has a terrific accent to match his keen radio voice. I'll definitely tune in once he picks up Peel's night and will probably catch the other two dj's on their nights as well.

I'm still baffled about why I didn't read anything about that Kate Bush song being covered from any of the KB lists I'm on...
