Wild Rose back in bloom
Yes, yes, I do realize that I have been posting quite a lot lately about Kate and the new album and that not everyone loves her as much as I do, but just indulge me here, I'm really excited about it...
Kate Bush announces new album
23 Dec 2004
"The album is nearly finished now and will be out next year"
Kate Bush, one of the UK's most celebrated singer/songwriters, is to return to the limelight next year with a new album.
After spending over 10 years away from the music industry, Bush will return with the as-yet-untitled follow up to 1993's "The Red Shoes". The late Michael Kamen worked with Kate prior to his death, and is likely to be the last orchestral music heard from the legendary composer posthumously [read: Film composer Michael Kamen dies].
"[The album] features some beautiful orchestral movements by Michael Kamen," writes Kate to her fans, "we had a wonderful day together at Abbey Road Studios last winter".
"There are some lovely performances and I hope you will all feel it's been worth the wait."
Other confirmed contributions come from former Japan bassist Mick Karn (playing bass on a track called 'How To Be Invisible'), drummer Stuart Elliott and jazz percussionist Peter Erskine.
Bush has made a few select public appearances in recent years, singing with Pink Floyd's David Gilmour at the Festival Hall in 2002, and appearing at the Q Magazine awards in 2001 to collect best classic songwriter.
"We'll let you know when," Kate says of the new album's release date.
One thing at a time then.
