Seven Things Meme

I agree with Anne and anaglyph about not usually participating in the meme thing, but after seeing these pop up at a few of the other familiar blogs I read, I couldn't help myself but to try (and surprisingly enough, it was quite challenging and took a really long time to finish.)

SEVEN THINGS I CAN DO

* Play more than one musical instrument
(including two flutes at the same time and playing the piano without looking)

* Dance continuously for up to four hours
(without the use of drugs)

* Love my enemies
(this was an acquired skill over the past ten years)

* Cook
(most anything with the exception of red meat-- I make a mean veggie lasagna.)

* Cut, style and dye my own hair
(many years of practise)

* Speak the truth
(I suck at lying, believe me I've tried.)

* CENSORED *
(my parents read my blog so I'm leaving this one out-- but it's the thought that counts, right?)


SEVEN THINGS I CAN'T DO

* Drive on freeways
(in my "old age" I've discovered I suck at driving over 55mph, although I quite enjoy being the passenger)

* Crawl through confined spaces on my hands and knees in the dark
(attempted this once at the SF Exploratorium at a walk-through installation they have there called the Tactile Dome-- brought out my worst case ever of claustrophobia and the guide had to come and pull me back out after about 10 minutes. Very embarassing-- even tiny children laughed and pointed at me.)

* Watch anything with Sarah Jessica Parker in it
(causes a condition similar to epilepsy accompanied by a bloodcurdling scream that could wake the dead.)

* Take politics seriously
(I mean, come on, just look at this mess!)

* Believe in only one version of "reality"
(who is the master who makes the grass green?)

* Live forever
(although I'll probably die trying.)

* Give birth
(not can't but won't -- too many people already here on Earth fucking shit up, why add to it?)


SEVEN THINGS THAT SCARE ME

* The thought of a nuclear holocaust happening within my lifetime

* Flying on airplanes

* Guns
(I've had one pointed at me once and hope it never happens again.)

* Earthquakes
(survived the 7.1 Loma Prieta back in 1989 in Santa Cruz, CA and am not looking forward to the next one, which will inevitably happen within my lifetime-- thoughts of moving elsewhere remain high on the list.)

* Really big bugs and/or snakes that can bite/sting and kill you and can survive under water (shudder...)

* People who follow leaders

* Living longer than my loved ones


SEVEN THINGS I WANT TO DO BEFORE I DIE

* Communicate in some way with an extraterrestrial being

* Visit Morocco, Japan and Australia

* Completely read every book (and comic book) in my home library

* Pure unadulterated LSD
(original formula, just like Owsley used to make...)

* Have my entire back tattooed
(I've been working on a specific design for this for over 15 years and am now searching for just the right artist to assist me in completing the work.)

* Move to Amsterdam
(or at least be there when I shuffle off this mortal coil...)

* Witness an end to world hunger, disease and all war on earth

* I love anything and everything to do with vampires.

* Once upon a time, I used to make a living selling bongs, pipes, handmade jewelry and incense at flea markets and fairs.

* I waited until I was 20 before having sex.

* My husband dAS and I have known each other for 18 years (October 28th we'll celebrate our 5-year wedding anniversary)

* I was previously married and remain friends with my ex to this day.

* I've been passionately kissed by another woman once.
